Tom Hanks is staying in business with Apple. Following Apple’s acquisition of Hanks’ war movie Midway and the new WWII show Masters of the Air, the company has acquired the new Hanks movie Finch.
The sci-fi film, which is directed by Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik, follows the story of a robot and a dog. Hanks plays a robotics engineer, and one of only a handful of survivors from a cataclysmic solar event. He is living underground with his dog, Goodyear. Hanks’ character builds a robot, who will be played by Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), with the idea that this robot will take care of Goodyear after Hanks’ character passes away.Venir de Tragamonedas Gratis Online
The three unlikely compatriots embark on a journey into a post-apocalyptic American west, where “Finch strives to show his creation the joy and wonder of what it means to be alive,” according to a description of the movie from Deadline.
Ivor Powell (Blade Runner, Alien) wrote the script alongside Craig Luck, who makes his screenwriting debut with the project.
Finch is just the latest big get for Apple Studios, which is also making the aforementioned Masters of the Air series with 007 director Cary Fukunaga. Apple will also be the home of the upcoming Billie Eilish documentary, the new Will Smith movie Emancipation, and the Martin Scorsese film Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. Apple has also signed the movie Swan Song featuring Mahershala Ali and Naomi Harris, along with a new TV show featuring Brie Larson called Lessons in Chemistry.
More recently, Apple announced that Ted Lasso Season 2 will premiere in July.
